What is Springpress? . ..............................Download fact sheet

Springpress is the simplest and most effective permanent springing system available, outdating all other conventional flatwork ironer padding systems.
Constructed of a continuous wire formed into springs side-by-side on a continuous metal strip, Springpress is simply spiralled onto most existing ironer roll to produce a uniform covering of springs.
To complete the system, two turns of a standard needled textile are placed over Springpress.

Springpress is manufactured in various heights and tensions to suit most flatwork ironers.

Why is Springpress superior to other padding methods?
Full contact between ironer roll and chest is essential to achieve production levels an ironer is designed to reach. A loss of padding thickness as small as 2 mm reduces the production of an ironer with a 170 degree contact angle by 40 %!
Due to friction and compression, even the highest quality textile padding will compact and wear out. Because of the elasticity and compression properties of Springpress, the textile padding will be held in full contact with the chest until it is completely worn out. Full ironing production is thus ensured throughout the life of the textile padding.
Over 100.000 ironer rolls have been covered with Springpress and it is the original springing system used by over 85% of the world’s ironer manufacturers.

Why use SPRINGPRESS on your ironer?
INCREASED PRODUCTION

  • Perfect contact between roll and chest is obtained immediately and maintained throughout the life of the textile padding. No textile break-in period. Constant maximum output.
  • Adapts perfectly to all uneveness of the flex chests.
  • Thinner textile paddings provide better venting of moisture through the vacuum system, and quicker drying of textile paddings when no vacuum system is in use.

BETTER IRONING QUALITY

  • Springpress compresses when textiles are new, and compresses less as the textile padding wears. Localized high points like buttons, hems and embroidery compress individual spring more, while holding surrounding material in contact with the chest.
  • Diminishes wet spots and crows feet. Springpress uniformly spreads the total ironing pressure over the entire surface.

LESS MAINTENANCE COST

  • Thinner textile padding is less expensive and easier to install. Doesn’t require a textile specialist for repadding.
  • Extended padding life. No need to constantly add to textile padding to maintain roll diameter.

LESS ENERGY WASTED

  • Full contact between roll and chest during entire life of textile padding. No energy loss.
  • Constant roll diameter so all available heating surface is used for drying. More efficient heat transfer.
